Charlotte Bronte was the eldest out of the three famous Bronte sisters, all novelists writing under the pseudonyms of Currer, Acton and Elis Bell. Charlotte was the third of six children born to Patrick Bronte, an Irish clergyman and Maria and from 1820, the family lived in Haworth in Yorkshire. Charlotte was the author of Jane Eyre, Shirley, and Villette. The Professor and the first twenty pages of Emma were published following her death in 1855.
This is a different kind of post....and it's a Tuesday morning. What gives? Well I thought it might be fun to do a recap of my month in reading and reviewing and have decided to do a kind of wrap up of the month.
Being from the marvellous county of Yorkshire, we celebrate Yorkshire Day on August 1st. By a happy set of circumstances, I found myself reading this novel by one of Yorkshire's greatest authors, Charlotte Bronte
