Dame Daphne du Maurier, Lady Browning was an English author and playwright famous for writing the novels Rebecca, The Birds, Jamaica Inn and Frenchman's Creek.
I love looking back over the year and reflecting on some of my favourite reads. These might be a rediscovery of a book I haven't read in a while, a new read to me that will over time become a favourite or a much loved favourite.

I have just realised something, gosh I'm daft at times. During this novel, at no point do you ever learn the name of the narrator, we only ever know her as 'My Wife' or 'Mrs de Winter'. More on this later.
