We've made it! Last night I curled up in front of our log burner and watched The Good Life Christmas special and felt like I can take a breath and that Christmas is finally here.

Wherever you are and whatever you are doing I do wish you a happy and peaceful Christmas and all the very best for the New Year. I hope you are able to see loved ones on the big day, and if you can't then you enjoy some lovely Zoom meeting fun with them and know that you will be missed and thought of just as you are missing and thinking of them.

I'm going to keep this review short, but it is a children's classic poem and one which I know many of you enjoy reading aloud on Christmas Eve. Of course I am talking about The Night Before Christmas by Clement C.Moore, but I must pay tribute to the illustrator Christian Birmingham who truly brings alive Clement C.Moore's iconic poem in the edition I own.

The poem is well known and details a visit from Santa Claus witnessed by the narrator who spots the sleigh and the reindeer and sees Santa come down the chimney to deliver his presents. leaving with a tap at the side of his nose, ready for the next house. This poem is lovely to read aloud and truly brought to life by Christian Birmingham's wonderful illustrations. It closes off my #12 Books of Christmas nicely. I won't be posting on Thursday, as I'll be too busy popping out a mince pie and glass of something heartening for a special visitor, but I will be back on the 29th to talk about my year in books. Thank you for all your support throughout the year.
