Today, I am coming at you with a review by an author whose novels at Christmas I have come to look out for. This novel was actually published last year, but was so enjoyable I had to include it on my list.
The Plot
Wynters Trees is the home of Christmas, but for Liza Wynter it’s a millstone around her neck. The Christmas tree farm was her father’s pride and joy, but now he’s gone, she can’t have anything to do with it. Until her father’s business partner decides to retire and she must go back to handle the transition to his son Ned.
When Liza arrives she discovers a much-loved business that’s flourishing under Ned’s stewardship. Amd she’s happy to stay and help for the Christmas season, but then she has other plans. Will the place where she grew up make her change her mind? And can it weave its Christmas cheer round her heart?
My Thoughts
I am rapidly becoming a big fan of the books of Heidi Swain and find myself looking out for her latest book. Her Christmas books are absolutely delightful with lovely scenery, a likeable cast and a particularly festive setting, in this case a Christmas tree farm complete with beach huts selling locally sourced christmas presents and treats. Think sleigh rides, a big husky, the smell of pine and nipped noses and you get the idea.
Liza is Lovely, practical and artistic, searching for a new career, she starts to help out at the Christmas Tree farm her father founded and loved. Adamant she will be selling the business, she falls slowly in love with the business, the stall-holders and customers and becomes increasingly fond of Ned, the son of her father’s business partner.
The novel is heartwarming, packed full of Christmas goodness and made me crave a hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream. Yum yum.
I would definitely recommend this when you are craving that Christmas spirit.
