December Wrap-Up
In the middle of #12booksofchristmas, I am writing this post. It is Monday December 13th and I have just got back from a weekend away with my husband. It's funny to be writing this now. Christmas has not quite happened, and New Year is even further away. But I wanted to get this prepped so that I can have a think about my favourite books of the year, which is a post I will actually publish before this one.
I feel like I am messing with time.
I hope that wherever you are, you are taking a moment to breath and enjoy the season. It's a magical time, but can also be a very pressured time, so please make sure you have time to do something you want to do, or something you feel you should do just because everyone else is doing it. (and yes Elf on the Shelf, I'm looking at you!).
And so, with all that in mind, there is one more wrap-up of 2021 left to complete. So let's get this show on the road.

My Favourite Book this Month
Lordy, this is a hard one. These books were already books I had read and absolutely loved. The one that has stayed with me the longest is Wintering by Katherine May, it was beautiful and meditative. But special mention must also go to The Darkest Evening by Ann Cleeves. Can I have both?
5 Star Reads
These were all pretty much 5 Star reads for me. I select the Christmas reads throughout the year and this year has been especially kind to me.
Big Read Challenge
I've finally read another one!!!!!!! I've now read is 16/100 of the Big Read Re-Read challenge. I hope it is not another year before I read book 17.

Good Reads Challenge
I abandoned this at the start of November as it just became a bit too much to read 100 books for me this year. I've done a quick tot up though, and I reckon it ended up being 97/100 books read. I will most definitely NOT be setting a challenge for 2022. I just wanted to enjoy the books that I read, when I want to read them.
To Be Read
- Books on Kindle To Be Read - 4
- Big Read Books - 7
- Physical Books to Read - 14
I'm going to publish a new To be Read post for 2022. It helps me to keep track.

Looking Forward To...
This is an interesting one at the time of writing. I'm not actively looking forward to anything at the moment, instead I am just enjoying what is going on right now. Literarature wise,I know there will be lots of wonderful books published in 2022. I've already bookmarked a couple coming out.....the new Dr Ruth Galloway, The Twyford Code by Janice Hallett and possibly a new Richard Osman in September.
Personal wise, well I am starting a new job in January, looking forward to getting our house cosy, and of course, carrying on with the blog.
And so with all of this typed up. It only remains for me to wish you a Happy and Peaceful New Year. And to thank you for reading my ramblings and joining me on my reading journey. Take care.
With much love
Caroline
