June 2021 Wrap-Up

And just like that we have finished with June. This year is now seriously starting to fly. As I write, England has beaten Germany in the Euros 2020 (no, that's not a typo -the result or the year) and we are already looking forward to the next match on Saturday on tenterhooks. I have started meeting friends again and going to actual restaurants and coffee shops. Be still my beating heart! Best of all I celebrated my 4 year wedding anniversary with my beloved husband. We had a lovely day with each other, eating coffee and cakes (of course!), enjoying a meal and cocktails and just being with other. Now before I get too mushy, shall we start to wrap up June.

I've been in a bit of reading funk at the moment if I'm honest, so haven't read quite as many books as I normally do. But I can honestly say I have read and reviewed some fab books in June. I am now out of my reading funk. Thank heavens! and am back in love with my reading. now.

5 Star Reads

No 5 Star reads this month, but it was a close call in the case of Us Against You. I love this author so much. He is writing a third book in the Beartown series, scheduled to be published late this year in Swedish. I am wondering how soon I could be fluent in Swedish.

Big Read Challenge

Still on 14/100. However that will be changing with the next review.

Goodreads Challenge

Argghhhh I am not on schedule!!! I've read 46 books out of the 100 books I set myself. But I am not panicking. The emails from the kind people at Goodreads have not yet started to arrive telling me to pick up the pace, so it is all good.

To Be Read

Oh heavens, I have no idea. I will be doing a post on my mid-Year To Be Read pile. and will hopefully have an idea of how many I have. There are so many I'm looking forward to reading them.

Looking Forward To

SUMMER READS!!!!! - I have a few summer reads already on my pile and I am very excited as one of my favourite authors will be releasing her summer read this month. I am also rather giddy about the new Alistair Brownlee book. Alistair is one of my favourite athletes, I am gutted he is not going to the Olympics, but the book gives a glimpse into the mindset of successful athletes. It promises to be a fascinating read. With that in mind, I am looking forward to the Olympics. It will be very different this time, but still very inspirational.
