Remember when I used to do a monthly wrap-up and then I went back to work and had less time to read......well that. But I do like a wrap-up so going forward I figure I would do this at the end of each season. It's a lovely way to think about the last few weeks and feel grateful for all the jolly good books we've been reading.

This summer we went to the Triathlon in Leeds, celebrated our wedding anniversary on Ilkley Moor (Bah t'at). Our village has been very busy with a street party over the jubilee weekend, Open gardens which showcased some amazing gardeners and their beautiful and creative gardens and the world's hardest pub quiz to raise funds for the Fisherman's Mission. Last Monday the annual hog roast took place and was immense fun.

There were birthday celebrations aplenty and we had some very special visitors. We also attended a book launch for a wonderful children's book written by a very talented chap indeed.

Having said I wasn't going to do another Goodreads challenge, I did end up signing up to read 50 books this year. I'm 33 books read so far.

Favourite Book

I'm going to plump for the Karen Swan - The Summer Without You. It was close run between Douglas Kennedy and the Taylor Jenkins Reid.

5 Star Reads

The Summer Without You and I also gave 5 stars to the Maria Menounos book because it had such sensible advice for normal people.

Looking Forward to

It's going to be all things Autumn - crips walks, pumpkin spiced drinks, cosiness, starting my German again. And a holiday to beautiful Edinburgh with my husband and in the most random thing ever - seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger do a Q&A. Yes, you read that right!
